I have been asked to help a client with their phone program. Everything has worked well such as moving and renaming extensions. We changed our day and night as well as internal greetings and are still getting the old message played.

Incoming message asks press 1 for directory. This message updated. Once 1 is pressed the old message is played. Checked all mailboxes but none have the old directory message. I do not have cosession software. Just programed VM by 350,632,pswd, and correct prompts from terminal.

Any suggestions or dealers in our area. The dealer that did the install closed their office. We were lucky and have the passwords for the system.

you need cosession to change the 1 key dialing options. You must connect with this software to change it. In the 1 key option table 1 is already set to go to a certain ext, so you either have to match the greeting to the extensions in 1 key dialing or change the 1 key options.

You can find a NEC dealer in your area by going to necunified.com/customer support.

When 1 is pressed, what recording is played? Do you hear a greeting such as...."For Jim please dial 103, for Mary dial 105...." or something to that effect... or, do you hear "Please enter the first three letters of the person's first name" ??

After pressing 1 the old message directory is played. "For Jim 102, for Linda 105.....".

This is the one we are trying to find.

Ok, I found the mailbox. It's 162. It says it is the directory mailbox. I just think I need cosessions to access it from an extension to change it's greeting. I have been unable to find the extension it is tied to.

if its 162 than you can access it from the main mgr(632). if you dont know the password for 162 than use the mgr mailbox to reset the password to new.
