So far our one and only SV8300 install has been a huge headache and I wish we had never installed it.
The issues with the switch have all been corrected but coming up on 6 weeks post instsall and my punch list on the UCB issues continues to grow while baffling engineers at Zeacom. I have spent over 100 non billable hours on site post install and am not done yet. There are several features that just don't work!
Give it at least 6 months before purchasing either of these products... too many bugs right now.
Sometimes I truely feel like I am beta testing this shyte!

Dog,
Sounds like what I had to deal with on the UM8500 Unified Messaging Server. It took Active Voice and NEC Unified months to get this thing working. It was supposed to be all SIP ports on it but they couldn't get faxing to work so they changed to all Analog ports. It was really hosed. Growing pains out the wazoo.

Problems we have had:
DTMF signalling carried over a CCIS IP link: NEC claims NETLINK software will fix this but has yet to release the software.
InACD: NEC said this would fine on the 8100 as it is shown in MasterQuote. We had major issues with it.
My techs are the guys who can really put some details down for you to take a look at...Will get some input from them next week to post here.

The UM8000 was NEVER supposed to be an IP voice mail. And it's NOT analog either. It's digital TDM just like every in-switch voice mail that came before it. The Fax feature was still in development when the product was released. You'll see it shortly.

I said it was UM8500 not UM8000. Read my post carefully.
