I have a customer who was using a Wanderer cordless phone that went bad. They still want a cordless phone for that user and it looks like we may be installing a Ranger cordless. I have 2 questions:
1: what is your opinion of these phones, do they work well?
2: I can't find any reference to them in my manuals, what station ID do I program for them?
Thanks in advance!

I think that they do much better than a Wanderer. Not only is it a full multi-line set, the range is much better. As for station identification, if station lock is disabled on the system, they are automatically identified when connected.

Eds right. The ranger is definatly better. I would get the spektrum one though. We had some range issues with the regular one. They are sort of limited in what they can do in my opinion cause the cstomer doesn't want to take the time to learn all the codes and stuff.

Careful, the Ranger doesn't work with all Vodavi Systems.

Good catch, Derrick. I didn't even think about that part. I figured that he already knew that part, but we can never assume... Well you know the rest of that part.

Has anyone hooked a ranger to the SBX? I saw that it is now possible with V2 and will be doing one on my next install, just seeing how well it worked. I tried to convince them to try the nomad, but the cost was a factor.

According to tech support the system,(XTSc), needs to be @ 3.0 software for the Ranger to work. Anyone know where to get technical documentation for theRanger?

You can get ranger info from ccc.vertcial.com
I have ranger handsets out there on 2.23 XTS, and maybe even earlier on some......
Only issue I ever had was on early STS.

It won't work on an XTSc with 1.x software
