Is there a way to restrict only long distance calls on this systm? So as to where they would have to enter a code to place long distance calls, but no code for local?

Sure, it can be done in a variety of ways. Give us better detail of what you need to do and we'll help you come up with some ideas.

All the phones except 2 use the loop/pool feature, therefore do not have a direct co apperance. I programmed a Code button because orginally they were going to have to enter a code to get any outside dial tone, however now they would like to only enter a code to dial any long distance numbers. It is in a school and they do not want students dialing long distance unless a teacher or staff enters a code.

I'd fully restrict the desired stations for everything except 911, then store a pause in any speed bin above 9060. Pressing speed + that code will return unrestricted dial tone. That way, it's also easy for the administrator to change the code whenever they feel like it.

how do you store the pause? So then they would hit speed plus the bin number I store that in and that would unrestrict all outside lines? How can we place 911 as unrestricted then?

By storing the speed bin with a single entry of the press of the hold button, you are storing a two second pause. I can't offer support beyond this level.

I apologize, but I was under the impression that you are a technician seeking opinions. I did not realize that you are an end-user. Per the terms of service for membership on this site, we are unable to provide technician-level support in public forums.

Someone here may be willing to offer technician-level support via private messaging (PM) and fees for this support, if any, may be negotiated there.

I am a technician and have installed over 20 STS systems. However this if the first instance of this I have come across. Was just looking for input from others who may have more experience with this sort of request. Although thanks for the help you did give.

Here is the way I see it: You can set up the system with forced account codes, and restrict all of the stations that need this treatment. That isn't too complicated, but requires the services of a tech. to change/modify the codes. To me, that's a pain.

I find it easier to use the system speed bin suggestion that I offered. It's not quite as efficient, but at least the customer can change the code if necessary on their own.

I'm going to PM you my phone number.
