Does anyone know how to connect an SBX through a network. I tried it on a simple network, tried changing the IP address, but can't ping it. At one time I was able to connect using a cross over cable into my PC

That is pretty much the only way i connect to them just because the speed. But I have done them both with crossovers and on a simple network and worked fine. Make sure that you use a IP, Subnet, and a gateway even if you are just using a crossover.

Make sure you have the following items filled in under PGM 108.
IP Name (i.e. SBXDemo) Server IP Address: (A valid IP from your Network) GateWay IP Address: (The gateway address of your network) SUBNET Mask: (The subnet mask that matches your network, i.e. 255.255.255.0)
Your PC must have an IP Address, and subnet mask on the same network the SBX is located.
Example: if your network is 192.168.0.X where X is 1 for the router and you assign 192.168.0.200 to the SBX, your PC must have an IP address in the same address range, i.e. 192.168.0.201.
Make sure you don't have another device using the same address, all devices must have a unique address.
