We have a Vodavi STS system that is recieving calls from out of our country (USA)
The in skin voice mail does not recognize the digits. What would be a better solution for Voice Mail system that will allow for out of USA tone recognition?
Thanks

Nothing, really. There is nothing wrong with the voice mail itself. There is no uniform (international) tone plan to speak of, however DTMF is almost there. I think that if anything, your system simply isn't "hearing" the tones.

You might try adjusting the CO transmit level DOWN to make your ports more tolerant of low-volume tones coming in. Do this in flash 40, page B.

This issue is more complicated when you are using POTS lines. With a PRI, the loss is much lower, if at all so the system will have higher levels of tolerance for far-end tone distortion.

I agree with Ed. Although I seem to remember that you can go in through windba and adjust the handset volume on the voice mail ports. I don't like adjusting the transmit levels on co lines personally, but either way should work if it is a volume problem. Then again, I may be recalling the way to turn up handset calls for a Talk Path.
