Welcome to Tech Talk. welcome

This question gets asked a lot. What is most important is the installing company, get some references from them. Do they respond to service calls? Do they keep equipment in stock? Make sure the system has growth potential in case your organization grows. I'm sure our experts on the systems you metioned will comment here on each systems abilities.

Ditto what Larry said above.

It's more about the company you buy from instead of the equip brand. Ask for references and by all means call them.
Keep in mind that the low price bid isn't always the best choice.

Good luck,

If you have no clue, I'd ask them for clarification. Otherwise, they're not doing their job.

While I agree with what's been said I would like to include this.

Most systems have approximately the same feature sets. So it's going to come down to the keyset. Does it have plenty of buttons? are they programmable? how does the phone feel in your hand? does it feel like cheap plastic or is it sturdy when you hang it up. You get the drift but I would make them demo it for you.

As for the system I would prefer: Toshiba first Panasonic second

I agree with Mr. Ritchie, Toshiba first,. The CIX40 is a 40 port system which means you can have a total of 40 incoming lines or telephone handsets. System will not grow beyond that. It has a good internal voice mail system and is very user frindly.

Does that system come with handsets and you have to pay extra for the phones...

Haven't we been here before? Seems like 'handset' is relatively common outside the 'colonies' when referring to a device on the desk or mounted on the wall that allows you to connect to the "CLOUD" that the IP people keep insisting on using in place of the 'Commercial Telecom Network'. And occasionally, poorly informed folks within the 'colonies' use the same term. I'm surprised it hasn't evolved to 'headset', considering the popularity of 'Blue Tooth' headsets. Oh well, give it a chance, John, it WILL happen! smile John C.
