All of us have had to install remote ringers of some form or another over the years. Thought I would share this one with you. Many times you can run DC voltage ringers but when you add cable length between buildings this can be too much resistance for the circuit to operate. This same situation may present itself when using analog ports when trying to push ring voltage. Well I had an old Lorain 1A2 power supply long forgotten. Some of these supplies have a ring voltage output and some do not. I now have four ringers in as many buildings now operating off this little beauty! Over twenty years old and it has a new life!

You're right Jim. It's hard to find a real ring generator anymore. I hold onto much of that stuff for that very reason.

1A2 still lives!
In a modified version, of course.
