The company I work for acquired a small office (we'll call it "The Widget Company") in the Baltimore area, actually just one engineer. He has a Sprint cell phone and couple land lines (one voice, one DLS/fax) with Cavalier Business that he is being overcharged for.
Is there a better cellular alternative? Our corporate account is with AT&T.
I need to call Sprint and Cavalier and address these billing issues. Both accounts are in "The Widget Companies" name. If I call and represent myself as being with "The Widget Company" am I going to meet any resistance as my name would not be associated with these accounts? Better to go through an explanation of the relationship? Does the engineer need to contact Sprint and Cavalier to give me authorization to work on the accounts?

We run into this from time to time when calling the teleco's for some of our customers. I would give em a call and if they won't help you because your name isn't associated with that account, have the engineer call and give you the authorization.

We used to have a Letter of Authorization that the customer signed giving us authorization to make changes and place orders on their account. We will only deal with Verizon, if they have a CLEC they are on their own. The LOA would get faxed to the Verizon customer service rep if they asked for it. I haven't had one ask for it in about two years.

Here in at&t(land line)country they still always ask for a LOA. I would hope that cellular would be the same.

Why dont you call from the widget co site along with the engineer. That way if you need any info or authorizations you can get it right there.
Also, he will be able to participate in his own destiny and corrections.

The Widget Co. is now wholly owned by your company. Contact Cavalier and see they require a Letter of Agency. They will usually provide one or you can send them one on your letterhead.
