I have a customer with a dkt 2004 cordless phone, I have replaced the whole unit twice, the battery three times and now it doesn't work again. Has anyone had any issues with these in the past. It is on a CTX 28

Is it stand alone or attached to a desk phone?
is it totally dead or just some features not working?

It is stand alone, and it's like the battery is dead, or not charging.

The 2004 is old and Toshiba/Uniden does not repair them any longer, you may be correct the batteries are old and they want charge, if you find a source for new batteries let me know, I have 3 2004's with dead batteries. You may want to look at changing out with a 2304 or 2204.

I think Batteries Plus ( https://www.batteriesplus.com/) will custom build a battery for you. It may not be economical to repair/build, but I've used them before.

Batteries Plus is the place and they do stock these batteries we have used them in the past. As far batteries go if all possible use up the charge in an older before recharging.
