I have a site with a ctx670 and 8 DDCB's, and they are expanding and want to have more than 24 doorphones.
I looked up specs and it looks like it is not possible to go over 24 doorphones.
Any ideas / workarounds?
I have suggested that in some covered (vestibule) areas, that we switch the doorphones for digital ringdown phones, but I am looking for more creative or new ways to make this happen.
I am surprised that the new CIX1200 does not go over 24 doorphones either!?!?
Thanks.

Thats a lot of door phones.
Like you said, you could use the digital single line phones with a rinddown, or use a 3rd party door phone/ Calllbox that that either uses an analog line, or uses a CO trunk.
I had a problem with one that uses an analog line before. My test set had dialtone, but I could not get the callbox to work. Replaced it with another and still no good. Not sure what was the final outcome. I believe it was a Viking call box.

That is a lot of doorphones. Realistically, if you have to monitor that many doors, you should probably trust that responsibility to an actual door phone system. On the other hand, why couldnt you use something like an elevator emergency phone on an analog port. Most of those are able to be programmed to dial any number of digits, in this case, it could be programmed to call and internal ext like the receptionist.

As mentioned, short of a phone, door boxes that use analog lines or ring CO lines may be your only option.

Yup, I would agree that all the single line ring-downs or elevator/auto-dial options are the way to go, if integration is needed with the phone system.
If integration with the phone system is not a priority, then maybe replace the DDCB set-up with a stand alone door system.
By the way... what kind of application uses that many door phones, and subsequently who monitors all of them?
Thanks!

Thanks for the input, I have been looking at the analog doorphones, and it does seem like the only option.
The site is a nursing home, and they have numerous entrances as well as some patios off of certain rooms that they wanted doorboxes on.
The calls are answered at a nurses station that is manned 24x7.
The problem with changing the setup now is that the system has only been in for about 6 months.

You're welcome. Is the goal to have a "one-touch" ringdown that goes off-hook for two way conversation? If so, then the Viking E-10A or E-20B might not be a bad idea in conjunction with analog ports. click here to view the E-10A product page click here to view the E-20B product page

If programmed correctly, adding ringdown circuits or analog door boxes with a push button will be transparent to the customer.
