Hey guys, I have a cix40 that is randomly intercoms the same ext about 10 times a day. I have already checked for shorts and it's still happening. The ext's are 105 and 175 so they are not even close on the block. Help!!

Is 105 calling 175 or vice-versa? What happens if you change ports/ext. #'s? Also, what is on button 6 of both of these phones? Try removing anything from button 6 and see how that goes as a test. Do you have voicemail? Is it possible that the voicemail could be dialing at random?

Also check to make sure that the keystrip and plastic keystrip cover is snapped down and in place. Ive seen it where the cover is not totally in place and pushing on a couple of buttons.

What does the display on the called phone read when the phone gets the intercom call?

someone over at the tech talk forums had this problem, I think he ended up replacing the cable and the problem never returned

I have had a similar problem, where the culprit was RF interference. A well placed RF choke ( from Radio Shack ) may be the cure. You will want to install one on the system and device side, even though one will probably cure it.

It is a call from 175 to 105, the display says intercom call from 175 or call from 175...I will check the other fixes listed and let you guys know....

Also I can't change ext's because they are at capacity now...
