I have a problem with a digital circuit on a Toshiba Strata DK280 system. I have changed out phones and the problem is still present. The Intercom button blinks constantly which makes it unusable. I have studied the programming and see no apparent problems. I have checked over access codes and have not seen any that would cause this type of action. Does anyone have any advice?

I know there were problems like that on the earlier software. Have you recycled the power on the switch?

Look at program 39 for this DN. Make sure the button is programmed as a intercom for that DN. Have you tried a system reset?

If it is just one circuit, I would try swapping 2 station cards in the system, see if the trouble follows the card or stays with the station. If it stays with the station, try punching that station down on another extension to rule out your wiring. I would rule out all other potential problems beforwe I assumed that it is the processor or went through the hassle of re-initializing and reprogramming. It could be something as simple as a bad jack or a mouse-chewed cable. ------------------ Intertel Telephone Repair Toshiba Telephone Repair

Thank You for your quick replies, I ended up switching to a vacant port, which should rule out the physical problem. If a power reset is needed in the future, can I do this through software or do I have to physically remove power. And what precautions must I take to assure that I dont lose any programming?

have your local toshiba dealer do a back-up of your phone switch data base. then if you have major problem you can reinitialize and up load the programming.( if you are able to isolate the issue to the processor. i believe toshiba has a list of processors w/ known issues on their technicians website. altough take ssphone advice make sure it is really a dn.(prg39) m

This can be solved by program 91-2, LED's 3 and 4. Soft power RAM recycle. One of those Toshiba quirks.
