I have been searching for a way to moniter 4 extensions on a Telrad Digital Key BX Avvanti system and barge-in seems to be the way to go. I understand feature 24 won't work unless the extension rings busy and our system camps internal calls and cfvm was on. I have set cos on boss phone to allow barg-in and have changed cf busy to -, still won't ring busy, local rep says it sounds to him like I know more about system than him and he has 2nd customer that wants same ting and if I figure it out call him. HELP

Dail 1 before dailing the EXT.
It does matter how your programed but I'm giving you the default settings.
If you have Dual Audio Path on the EXT you need to dial the 1 for Tone. (look in Function Acces Codes)
This will also ring the EXT if there not on the phone. You could also just dail the Trunk number 801, 802 , 803.

Thanks for the reply, I tried dialing 1 + EXT and still get ring, Dual Audio Path is not a choice on Function Access Codes menu. I seem to remeber when the system was installed that there were 2 modes the system could be in ( Key VS PBX????) could that have anything to do with it? or am I remember a prior system?

When the phone you want to barge into is off hook, from another phone dail 1 and the ext number should give you a busy. Dual audio path is set next to the Ext on the ULD or UHD card in programing. TOne is set in function acess codes. Sorry I didn't explain the proberly.

As a follow up I just noticed a "MONITER" button on the boss's phone, the program shows MM. Can anyone explain function and correct use of this feature?

Are you in PBX mode? Set in station attirubutes.
MSG Monitor (MM). Is so you can listen to a Msg as it's being left.

Press f-9 when the uld or uhd is higlighted.
Since your in PBX mode, you would have to have only one DR key for that ext to create a busy.
