Have customer with a KX-T7633 phone with a Plantronics CT14 Headset connected parallel through the XDP port of the 7633 phone. Problem is that CO calls are dropping once or twice a day on customers phone and headset. The phone is not losing power, just the CO is dropping on this one phone. I have changed both the extension port and the telephone and the problem still exists. Customer says he's been having problem for about a month now and is becoming frustrated as the problem seems to being happening more frequently. Could this be caused by the headset or programming related to the headset? Thanks for any suggestions.

I should have mentioned above that the customer is using PRI for their lines on a TDE200.

XDP is for a phone, not a headset.

Sorry if I was unclear regarding the headset unit. This is not just a headset to be connected via the phones 2.5 mm headset jack. The CT14 unit is a S/L analog device that connects via a RJ11 connection. The headset is just a part of the unit. The headset connects via 2.5 mm jack into a portable dialpad which charges itself in a base station of the unit. The modular connection is located on the base station intended to be connected to a single POTS line, however can be connected to the XDP port of the phone for use.

Check the programming of the CT14 for Voice Mail Service. Make sure this is off.

CZ5, I have spoken previously with Panasonic and they suggested the same thing as you, that the device periodically checking for message waiting status may cause calls to be dropped. They were stumped on this same issue before deciding the telco message waiting of the device was causing it. However, I'm not sure how to disable this feature on a CT14 device from looking at the basic user guide. Plantronics tech support has told me there is no way to turn it off, but I'm not so sure.

Thats pretty stupid that it would check for msg when device is in use, seems a recall or money back is in order. Must be bad unit.

Here is a link to the user manual of the CT14 https://headsetplus.com/PDF/CT14-userguide.pdf Page 25 has the steps to turn off that option.

Thanks for the guide CZ5. I was previously looking at the older CT12 guide by mistake. Customer has about 6 total units and all are CT12's except for the one giving trouble which happens to be the CT14 unit. I have had customer switch his CT14 with a CT12 to see if the trouble stops on his phone. Going to disable feature on CT14 before trouble begins on other phone it was moved to. Multiple Panasonic Tech Support guys have said they experienced this in the past due to the vm feature. Thanks again.
