I have a KX-TA624 system with KX-T7030 phones at home. I would like to use a headset from time to time. I tried a Plantronics M12 connected to the KX-T7030 and I was able to make calls, but other features of the KX-T7030 like Autodial stopped working. The LCD display also became garbled and the phone's LEDs intermittently blink even when not in use.
Any suggestions on what kind of headset to use or what programming change I can make to the system would be appreciated.

The Plantronics CS55 or CS70 with the optional handset lifter is great, plus it's wireless.
I get the impression that you didn't have the headset connected properly with the M12, which would connect in-line with the handset cord. Did you somehow connect it to the line cord?
Also, don't forget to slide the switch on the side of the phone from "handset" to "headset" in order for it to work properly.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did connect the M12 in-line with the handset cord.
I tried the switch on the phone in both "handset" and "headset" but had the same problems either way. I did get the impression that in the "headset" position the effect was that turning the Plantronics ON was enough to give me dial tone even if the handset was still on-hook. In the "handset" position, I had to lift the handset to get a dial tone.
I'll look into the headsets you recommend.

With the phone's switch in the "headset" position, the SP-PHONE button becomes the headset on/off button. Most speakerphone features are lost. The M12's button should remain in the headset position.

I finally figured it out: the telephone I was using with the Plantronics was the problem. I swapped the KX-T7030 units between the bedroom and my study, connected the Plantronics and it now works as expected. The 'bad' telephone is probably marginal - it works OK without the headset but goes 'nuts' with the headset plugged in. I'll probably need to replace it some day, but for the time being I'm OK.
Thanks!
