I now have a XP laptop with Hyperterm I when I power up the 200 I get what is expectedon screen (powering up testing etc.. but when I hit return I get no response from the VPS it does nothing.I have it set to 9600,8.n.1 does anyone have any sugestions on what I may have set wrong???

Are you using a NULL modem adapter?
Do you have flow control set to none and is auto-detect off?

Yes I was using a null modem adapter and had it set for VT100 emulation, on the terminal settings tab I have underline selected and blink, character set ASCII. Do I need to check one of the Terminal Modes?

under ASCII setup "ASCII Sending" & "ASCII Receiving" should anything be checked? Where I used to work we allways used Procom+ but I dont have a new version for my current laptops
