In order to 2 way record a conversation, does the call have to go through the tva first or can you just field a call with out it going into the tva and then push the record button to record?

it does not have to be a call through the tva. set up a 2 way record button and it will work.
when you dial in to your mailbox, it might say you have no new messages, press 1 anyway, it will be saved as an old message.
