I have installed a refurbished 61610 unit for a customer ,but am having problems getting the programming to store. I'm trying to set up his call restriction to local calls only, but all extentions will still dial long distance when the system is programmed to class 3 which is supposed to restrict outgoing calls to local only. I'm Stuck

First are you using the correct manual for the version system you have because the toll restriction changes between versions. Even if you have a version 3 the toll restriction is very limited to what it can do with a 616. The version should be a number in a circle on the name plate.

The manual that I'm using doesn't say anything about different versions of the system. All I want to do is stop long distance calls from all of the extensions. The manual I have shows 4 options, but the 7030 phone that I am using to do the programming only gives 3 toll restiction options. I have not had access to the system again as of yet but I will check for the name plate on it.

With that system you don't have much toll restriction if you use class 3 then you can restrict to allowed area code and/or the dial 1 if your lines require a 1 for LD.

I have tried restricting calls to a specific area code but it won't store the area code. Please help, my customer runs a hotel & is losing $$$ due to long distance calls made from the extensions.

I would suggest that you either just use class 4 for internal calling only or replace the system with something new enough to do real toll restriction. The only other way that I could think of is to have the lines toll restricted from the supplier.

The system doesn't give me a class 4 option in the programming even though it does show that option in the manual. I deffinatly appreciate the help though. I'm really glad I found this site.

If you like Panasonic, you might consider a KX-TA824, but you'll need to buy a 3X8 expansion card to get up to 6 X 16. You know the old saying, "All it takes is money!". John C.

Hey Guys, I found out the solution to my problem. I checked the programming tables in the system & the toll restriction wasn't complete. I programmed the table & then was able to set the toll restriction. Brain fart on my part. Thanx for all the help though.
