I am trying to log in as System manager over the telephone..I dial the voicemail number, get the greeting, dial #6, then *999 ( to log in) and get a message something like this: "You do not have access to that service"...
? I modemed in to check the mailbox settings.. for the system manager's box - auto log in seems disabled..but the software won't let me enable it...
I can log in to message manager's box, but not this one...is this by design? Couldn't find anything about it in the manual..
Thanks,,

forgot to mention the reason for the remote login ( another issue?)..
The manual says there are no passwords assigned by default to voicemail boxes...yet the system asks for one, and simply pressing # got rejected (as did any number of other things I tried..).
I wanted to use the system manager login to change the pws to something we knew..
Also, system requires at least a 4-digit password.
Is the manual wrong when it says that the default password is "none"? ( that's less than 4 digits! )
Thanks, DP

Its #6* 99,999,9999 or 99999, depending on what the mailbox number length then password and # and also system manager access from telephone must be enabled and the password for system manager must be set by the system administrator using KX-TVA maintenance console.

Bopper, what you describe is what I did..
#6, 999 ( we have 3-digit box numbers)... it didn't prompt me for a password - just said I had no access to that service...
When I used Maintenance console to try to either change the password or enable remote access - wouldn't allow any changes...
Which setting allows for remote telephone access? I didn't see anything using those words.. Version of software is 1.1
Thanks,
DP

Are you entering #6 and *(star)? Both your posts just have #6. Enable by telephone is under system security, administrator.

Yes, #6, then *(star)...that's when I get : "you cannot access this service....thank you for calling" ( then she disconnects).
I will check under system security, thanks..

Opps, didn't see the * in your first post. 60 year old eyes aren't what they used to be.

Bopper,
Thanks. I found the security settings ( can't figure out how I missed them before - ).
It also solved the other problem - I found the default password for mailboxes!
Thanks again..
