I have installed a KXTD1232-6 and KXTVS100 system and I am having a problem getting the Message Waiting Lights to work on the phones. I reset the KXTD and got the message lights to work from a phone but still no lights on or off from the VM System. Can anyone give me some ideas as to what to check out on the VM? Also, if I set the integration switch to 2 and reset the VM, will I lose all of my programming on the VM Unit. This is one of the things that I haven't done yet.
Thanks, Bilcor

Bilcor, If you currently have DPITS integration, leave the rotary switch set to 0. The problem is in the programming of the TVS and/or the mailboxes. Make sure that "all calls transfer to mailbox" is not enabled. From the system administration top menu it would be 1>1>1 In COS make sure that MWL is set for unreceived message, from the top: 1>2>2 then COS #. Check this out and we'll go from there --------------- MrG

Thanks MrG, I will be going by that location this afternoon to do some more checking. I have programmed that unit about 3 times in the past and never had this problem. The units usually work correctly after the normal steps, but this time after reseting both systems, I had to make changes in the KXTD that I had never had to make before??? After what I thought was a good install, I found that I couldn't access outside lines using 9 and also, couldn't get the Phones to setup fwd/dnd. After I reset and programed the KXTD the phones now work fine but still no MW lights. I will do some more checking to see whats up and get back on line this PM.

CW, he did test it on the TD1232 side. "I reset the KXTD and got the message lights to work from a phone but still no lights on or off from the VM System." ---------------- MrG

Mr. G, In your post above, you mention going to the admin top menu. Is this explanation using the Hyperterminal instructions or the Voice Master instructions. I plan on stopping by the location today to work on the problems some more.
Thanks, Billy Correll

Hyperterm. No need for an "after market" program on the voicemails. I don't recommend that the be used on the systems either. --------------- MrG

"after market"? is Voice Master an aftermarket interface for Panasonic?. I'm trying to find something to work with the TD. I've got PPD1232, built the cable per the manual. still no connection. I've tried every combination of settings I can imagine.
Never blame on malice, what can be adequately attributed to STUPIDITY!!

REAtaylor, The KX-TD series, although discontinued has proprietary programming software that was available only to Panasonic certified dealers. You can do the programming through a display set which is usually quicker for changes. -------------- MrG

reataylor, Your custom cable could be a problem. I always use a standard serial cable and don't forget the null modem adapter.
