does anyone know if you can conference in multiple parties on a single line conference (polycom) phone on a Nortel. The phone is attached to an ASM port.

Only three party. Try change lines to 3 way calling.

Once you have 3 way calling, you use the [Flash] button on the Polycom as you would the [Link] button on a Norstar phone.
If you dial an access code [9] to get an outside line on the Polycom you might have to have all the lines converted to "centrex/centranet" to get 3 way calling.

(Speaking of Rube Goldberg)...As a workaround, couldn't you have one/two other phones in the office initiate the conference call then conference-in the Polycom? Might be a little "clunky", but it's free.

I should clarify. I need the conference phone, and two outside parties conferenced in. I know you can do this with the Nortel branded polycom which connects to the digital station port. I just didn't know if you could do it with a standard single polycom by using the hookflash and grabbing another line.

You need two intercom paths for a conference call, no?

Copied from the analog phone manual. Conference- LINK *3 Allows you to establish a three-way conference between yourself, one external call and one internal call, or two internal calls. Line pool access allows you to establish a conference between yourself and two external calls. To establish a conference: 1.Make or answer the first call. 2. Press LINK,"2". The first call is automatically put on hold. 3.Make or answer the second call. 4. Press LINK *3 to complete the conference. Note: If the second call is busy, replace the handset and press LINK, "2" to return to the first call. To put a conference on hold: Press LINK '2".The other two callers can still talk to each other. To return to the conference call: Press LINK "2" again. To split a conference: 1. Press LINK, #, "3". This allows you to put one caller on hold and to consult with the other caller. 2. Press LINK, "2" to alternate between callers. To re-establish the conference: Press LINK,* "3". To disconnect one party: 1. Press LINK,# "3" . This allows you to put one caller on hold. 2. Press LINK,"2" to alternate between callers. To end a call: Finish your conversion then replace the handset. To retrieve the held call: Press LINK,"2".

Single line phone here..no link button. I think I will just get the customer to go with a conference bridge.

Link = Flash [/QUOTE]
If you're good, Link = Flash = pressing hookswitch button down briefly, then releasing.
