I am just wondering if anyone has installed SIP Trunks as the only Telco and how well it works. I have a company who is buying a 50. Their current setup is an analog system. Their service is SIP trunks being converted with an IAD to analog 1FB's. I want to just turn up the SIP trunks and not convert them to 1FB's. How well does this work, as I have never set this type of service up before.

It works as long as you have sufficient bandwidth on your internet connection.

I might be mistaken but as far as I understood you can't use SIP trunks for dialing out or receive calls on BCM. You can use them only for networking. Am I wrong?

to my knowledge the only sip trunks that are certified to interoperate with a BCM50 as the IAD is AT&T. Ingate is another option. they have a great line of products to work with Nortel to negotiate SIP trunks and other edge applications.
