ATA setup is I/C only. You can't pick up a Pool or Line until you Program a Hot Line to it.

Train the call taker to Park the call, not Hold the call. Then the cordless user can un-park the call, no matter what line it's on.

To expand on Vad60's response....
Place your lines in a Pool, say Pool "A". Then program a "Line Pool Code". When making an exterior call, turn on C/L, press the line pool code, then dial out. It will go onto Line 4 if not already busy. If it is, it'll go down to the next free line.
To expand on Yoda's response....
If they don't know how to use the park feature, refer to the user guide. Works great.

Sorry guys, I think my posting is a bit confusing, vad60 is in the ballpark, I need the cordless to give me L4 when I go off-hook, I've assigned L4 to pool "B" and line pool code "8" if I need it, also I've assigned L4 as prime line to this station,
vad60... I haven't tried the hotline yet, have not returned to site.
Thanks guys!

Please note that if you assign a hotline direct to line 4, you will not be able to use intercom or other features. You might be better off using I/C as the prime and dialing 8 when you need an outside line.
Also note that if you don't use a hot line, assigning Line 4 as the prime will do nothing. It will go to I/C anyway and you will still need to dial the 8.

Dave is correct the phone will have no access to internal features.
Hint on programming a hot line. The programming will be looking for at least one digit entry... don't use your pool access codes, use a pause. With hotline you've already seized a line no access code is required.
