I have a star talk flash 1.9 four lines on my 8x24 KSU AA is set to answer all four lines but when I tested it last night , it would answer on the first call after 4 rings like it is supposed to but on the second caLL which I'm sure is comming in on the second line and it is also set to answer after 4 rings i get ring back tone to 7-8 rings then is answered by telus m/b on the line which is set at 8 rings ( I am having telus taken off ) but why isn't my flash answering the second call , I thought the flash 2 could handel 2 call simultaneous . I have a four port expander would that work if I am only getting 1 call on the 2 port ?
Thanks

1st off, it's not 4-port expander.

You either have a "1-Port, 2 Channel" or "2-Port, 4 Channel" if the expansion card is in.

If the expansion is NOT installed, then you can only have 2 people using the Flash at any one time; double that with the expansion.

Keep in mind, that's inside, outside or both callers at the same time.

If you just installed the expansion card are you SURE that it's working, thus giving you the extra 2 channels?

Have you set up a night ringing service and is it set up to ring all lines?

There are a few possibilities here.

Therefore even though you called in, then called again, they're maybe others using Flash at the same time.

Thanks M.T. for the reply and I did mean 1 port 2 ch. it was 11:pm last nite that I was testing and they don't want night service turned on and actually all phones A&R all sets so its the DRT that drops the caller into a specific m/b and it works fine when the flash answers , as for the 2 port (4 Chan expander ) I was going to put it in and see if 2 more call could be handeled at the same time which should make 4 chans but 3 will do if it is a fault with the 1 port only allowing 1 chan to operate

Before you install the expansion, take plenty of notes. This MAY default when you upgrade.

That bei9ng said, a clean re-install might help as well. Your choice, but then again the Flash may take that choice away from you anyway.

An easy way to tet the channels is...

On two (or however many channels the flash has) phones dial F985. If one set reports flash is busy, you have channel problem. A reinstall may help but it might be a hardware issue in the flash or on the port of the 824.

Dial F981 from one phone and F981 from the second one. If both will ask for password or show Log: you OK.
