I have a Mitel 3300ICP whereas I turn on the external notification to an external phone number. The notification does not happen. I know it worked in the past. I am using the embedded vmail. I have tried adding the 9 or taking it away (9 for outside line access). The vmail can be forwarded to email but outside notification is not working. Any ideas?

Are the ports allowed to make the type of outside call you're trying?
Check COR, COS, etc. to be sure they're not restricted.

Keep in mind that if you allow the ports to access outgoing trunks, you may open up the Mitel to toll fraud. Enable "Cannot dial Trunk while in conversation or holding a trunk". "Deny Trunk to Trunk connection". Etc. AND make sure that ONLY the VM ports have these preventions in their COS. If there are other extensions using the same COS, set up a new COS for the VM ports! Otherwise, you'll be going back to fix other problems that'popped up'!  John C.

I checked the COR and COS but do not see anything out of the norm. Any other suggestions? By the way, I'm using a PRI link and the embedded vmail in the 3300.
