Hi all, I'm new here and just want to say hello and thought I'd share my configuration with the idea that it might offer some ideas & opportunities. I was thrilled to find a forum for the X16 system and have learned a few new things already. I also enjoyed the 1A2 topic which is what I cut my teeth on 40 years ago.

I have three CO lines connected to the X16 KSU: Line 1 is from a Nettalk VOIP adapter that is connected through a Viking c-500 Doorbell Controller and then to the KSU. Lines 2 & 3 are both from Xlink (no relation to XBlue) Bluetooth Gateway units. My wife and I each have home offices with an Xlink BTTN unit in each. Our cell phones are paired with our respective units and sit close by their wireless charging pads where the phones spend most of their time. The line out jack on each gateway goes back to the KSU on the orange pair of the house cable.

When a cell phone is within range it auto connects to its gateway and can be accessed for both inbound and outbound calls from the X16 phones. For outbound calls, the gateway provides dial tone and handles the interface to the cell phones. The system works great and we don't have to carry cell phones around the house.

I also tried the cheaper Cobra BT gateway but was disappointed. Not only was the BT range poor but the ring current is so anemic that the X16 will light the line key but not ring the phones. Also, the Xlink units have program options, including Tx & Rx levels, that can be accessed either by dialing codes or with a Windows PC and the firmware is upgradable to accommodate new phones/features.

The Viking c-500 doorbell controller rings line 1 and provides intercom to the door. If we're not home it forwards the call to my cell so I can still talk to whoever is at the door and they don't know there's no one home.

Why do I have to press one for English when they're just going to transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway?
