Ok, we moved into this house 9 years ago. Lost info on the system from the previous owners, who are now long gone. Several years ago I disabled it after a power failure revealed a bad battery and when the power came back on, we had no idea how to silence the !*&%$# alarm. Disconnected battery, ac power and keypad. Now I want to put it back in operation, but I have NO idea what the password is. Is there any way to default the panel and get the master password? The keypad is a ZXLED8 and the main panel is probably a ZX200. I can't get at it right now, stuff in the way.(Don't Ask:)) It might be helpful to have the installation manual as well but beggars cannot be choosers. John C.

John I would just yank out the panel and keypad, replace it with something new that way you have full control over it. You can use the existing wiring and I am sure we could help you with programming. If you went with a Honeywell panel I could program it remotely for you.
"ZX200 Panel Software Bug Notification
If you own, have installed or maintain a Moose ZX200 Control Panel, GE Security of Tualatin, OR is voluntarily announcing a recall to replace all ZX200 panels where a customer has experienced memory error or functional failure problems (typically generating an memory error notification at the keypad).
If a Memory Error or any other functional problem has ever occurred with an installed ZX200 control, you MUST replace the control panel with a comparable NetworX NX series panel. This recall affects all ZX200 control panels including: ZX200 and ZX210 part numbers.
If no memory error has occurred on the panel, GE Security requires that each installed ZX200 control panel (panel software versions 1.02 through 1.05) be evaluated and modified using the PRO200 (V2.06) Remote Programming software. This procedure performs the following tasks.
1. Evaluates the status of the control panel and determines if corruption of the software function map has occurred 2. Performs recommended changes to maintain the integrity of zone 8 3. Checks Memory Error status and enables Memory Error reporting.
Download Pro200 Software Here
Instructions for using RPM/2 Pro to evaluate the status of and perform modifications to installed ZX200 control panels (software versions 1.02 – 1.05) can be downloaded by clicking on the link below titled “Product Notification and Instructionsâ€Â.
If you are not currently using RPM/2 Pro with ZX200 control panels, please call GE Security at 1-888 GE SECURITY (888-437-3287) for information on how to obtain a replacement panel.
"All customers who are having Memory Error problems or other functional problems with a ZX200 panel can obtain a replacement panel by contacting GE Security Customer Service. A comparable NetworX NX series panel will be sent to you at no charge. Customer Service is available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday at 1-888-GE SECURITY (888-437-3287)."

Jeff, my manners are atrocious! Thanks, for the manual! John C. Anthony, I'll probably wind up replacing it, but I've got WWAAYY more time than money, and the urge to piddle with the alarm, s... John C.
