Another question...
On our newly-installed IVX-E system, I've noticed that caller ID is a little wonky. Upon ringing it only displays the caller's name, but as soon as you pick up to answer it displays both the name and number.
I assume there's some way so that both the name & number show up as soon as it starts ringing, rather than waiting until someone picks it up?
Thanks, m19

...and now in English? I'm sorry, I have no idea what you're saying. "I" didn't program anything; the distributor we ordered the phones from pre-programmed everything. m19

Great, glad you amused yourself. I'd rather get an answer from Rick as to what he means, though, since that might actually help the problem...

Sorry, I thought you were the person installing the system. If you have installer prog. access. Go to Function 2-1-1 Select the line key that you are programming. i.e. Line 1-or 2 etc. When it shows NAME: Thats where you should make it blank. Press the Hold key to remove the Name. This would allow for Name and Number to appear, if it has a programmed name tag. for instance the number for that line i.e. 123-4567 then only part of the caller ID will show until the call is answered. Hope that helps Rick ------------------ Komon Communications Inc. Business Communication Systems and Service

Call the installer. This could be a problem in so many different ways. It could be a named DID, it could be a named PRI pilot, a named CO port like suggested above, or even a Department group that's ringing. Of the above, only the department group can't have the name removed, but I'd really recommend you get some tech support from somebody who can dial into your system and access the installer programming.

IN THE ESI SYSTEM DAY AND NIGHT RING CAN ONLY HAVE A MAX OF 8 STATION'S SET TO RING IF YOU NEED MORE PHONES RINGING THEN YOU MUST OR OTHER NEEDS (ACD,UCD,SALES GROUPS ECT.) YOU MUST USE DEPARTMET GROUPS AND WHEN YOU USE A DEPARTMENT THE INCOMMING CALL WILL SHOW THE CALLER NAME ON THE TOP ROW AND THE DEPARTMENT ON THE NEXT ROW THEN WHEN THE CALL IS PICKED UP IT WILL SHOW THE NAME AND NUMBER OF THE CALLER HOPE THIS HELPS
