Keystone jacks fit in keystone plates from most mfgs. However, there can be a gap/spacing since they are not engineered to fit together.

There are other mfgs who makes jacks that are not keystone style (Ortronics, Siemon, etc.). You will need the faceplate made for these types of jacks in order to make it work.

The best practice is to use the properly matching jack and faceplate.

The chart is correct about Systimax. The jacks and housings are proprietary so no mixing and matching is possible.

Actually, Suttle and Systimax are compatible. We mix them all the time now. Found this out by accident though. Ordered Systimax plates and received Suttle. We put them in without even noticing until about ten plates into the job.

Actually, back in "the day", Suttle made most Bell System connectors, blocks, most inside plant/CPE type hardware. After Judge Greene they continued to produce using the same spec and part number.

So, a 42A connecting block from Suttle was the same as the one from Bell less the Bell on the Lid.

When Lucent/AT&T/Avaya came along, who do you think made their IDC-type connectors?

For some of the keystones jacks that fit loose in other manufactures faceplates. In a pinch here's what I do. Take a Ty-wrap tail and fold it over and wedge it in the top of the insert after you snap it into the plate. Provides just enough pressure so that it doesn’t push in when you plug in your cable. This won't work on the blank inserts although.
