Try these (in order):
1. Whenever double-clicking gives you the "Access Denied" message, simply right-click on the device and choose "Explore". Your files may just appear anyway.
2. Disable "Simple File Sharing" and take ownership of the drive's files. The general article is found
here , with specifics about disabling file sharing
here , but go back just a little more than halfway down the
original page to read up on "How to take ownership of a folder".
3. Try deleting the autorun.inf file located in the root directory of the flash drive. This file may not be present, but will be hidden if it does. Open any Windows folder and choose Tools, then View. Select the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button and uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files box", then click OK. Browse the flash drive for Autorun.inf and, if found, delete it. Unplug the USB stick and plug it back in. See if that does it.
